Securing Our New Commercial Space

This March marked an important step for Salty Buoy Marine Canvas as we took possession of our new commercial unit in Vancouver. The space began as a bare light‑industrial shell, providing a clean foundation for building a shop tailored to the needs of modern marine fabrication.

From the outset, our focus was on creating an efficient, purpose‑built environment that supports the precision and workflow our projects demand. With the keys in hand, we immediately began the permitting process required to build out the unit. Working within a stacked light‑industrial building meant navigating unique code requirements, coordinating with engineers, and ensuring every detail met the standards needed for our equipment and processes.

The months ahead would involve design work, planning, and preparation for construction, but taking possession of the space set everything in motion. This unit represents the next stage of growth for our shop and the foundation for the capabilities we’re continuing to build.
